Sales for Chicago luxury real estate continue to be good, with 43 luxury condo apartments sold during the month of December. This is despite the fact that December is typically a sluggish month for real estate, with the holidays, colder weather and the anticipation of a new year ahead.
It’s always a good idea for buyers to take a look at recent sales to get an idea of the features of a luxury condo that has recently sold at what price. Buyers can then use that information to compare with their own budget and what features, amenities, etc. they would like to see in a new Chicago condo apartment for themselves. To receive photos and/or the entire list of December’s sales, simply email me at email@example.com.
The luxury condos sold during December ranged in price from $1 million up to $4.3 million, and had a few common denominators among them: generous square footage, location in prestigious high-end buildings, and many were also in new or relatively new buildings that boast a certain cache in downtown Chicago.

Downtown Chicago a Destination for Many Buyers
Many buyers are looking at downtown Chicago as the right location for their next home purchase. It’s central location puts you close to both work and play, often within walking distance from everything from the office to the symphony and museums, not to mention dining, shopping and entertainment.
I’m finding that many empty nesters are looking at downtown Chicago condos to come in from the suburbs, to find a property that’s self-maintained and convenient for their lifestyles. I’ve also recently been working with people from all over the world, including Taiwan, Ireland, France and China. Chicago is becoming much more of an international city, as people are finding that it is much less expensive than the leading major cities of the world.
